A green ceiling is first and foremost an original and aesthetic decorative solution. It adds a touch of greenery to a space without taking up floor space, which is ideal in rooms where every square metre counts. Beyond the visual aspect, it can also contribute to acoustic comfort: in a room with high ceilings, plants (natural or artificial) slightly attenuate the reverberation of sound, creating a softer, warmer atmosphere. Last but not least, it helps to create a soothing, convivial atmosphere, whether in an office, a reception area or a living space.
There are several ways to install a planted ceiling, depending on the type of ceiling already in place and the desired effect. On a false ceiling If you have a false ceiling with tiles (as in many offices or schools), it’s possible to replace some conventional tiles with planted tiles. This option is quick to install and integrates the greenery discreetly and harmoniously. Suspended with cables Another solution is to suspend a planted grid from the ceiling using cables. This method gives the impression of a floating ceiling of greenery, and makes it possible to cover a large surface area without modifying the existing structure. On an existing structure (beams, pergolas, grids) If you already have a pergola or exposed beams, these can be used as a base for hanging plant elements directly. For simple, aesthetic installation, ceiling kits (€179/m²) are available that are perfectly suited to this type of structure. Around a horizontal beam or post, a linear kit is recommended for a uniform, well-integrated look.
